With plenty of international stores, small local boutiques, cafes and pubs, the south end of Oxford St in Paddington is known as one of Sydney’s coolest suburbs and is a mecca for shoppers and diners alike.
The main part of Oxford St starts as
Hyde Park and continues along to Centennial Park, although the heart of Oxford St is based around Taylor Square, the street itself continues all the way to Bondi Junction.
Oxford St does offer a great nightlife packed with bars, cafes, nightclubs, shops and cinemas.
But, it’s on Saturdays, when the long running Paddington markets, make Oxford St come to life.
These markets feature dozens of stalls, with everything from handcrafted goods to funky vintage clothing and delicious gourmet foods.
Oxford St is accessible by bus, numbers 380 and 382, which travel from Circular Quay all the way along Oxford Street to Bondi Junction.
