Taronga Zoo recently celebrated its 90th anniversary and is a favourite destination for international and domestic visitors to Sydney.
The Zoo officially opened on the 7th October 1916 and 90 years on, the location is just as stunning.
Taronga Zoo features over 350 species and there are 2,600 individual animals to see here, not to mention the most
comprehensive collection of Australian animals in the world.
There are also a lot of animal encounters here at the Zoo. You can get your pictures taken with birds, koalas, reptiles and even a giraffe. As well as checking out the feeding times, keeper talks and shows, such as the Free Flight Bird Show.
Never before has the role of conservation been so important and Taronga Zoo is recognised worldwide for its conversation projects.
Taronga Zoo is located on Bradley's Head Road, Mosman and is approximately 12 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay and the CBD. Ferries depart Circular Quay, every quarter past and quarter to the hour. The Sky Safari cable car operates between the Zoo wharf and the Top Entrance from 9.30am to 5.00pm daily.
